Two things about this outfit.
1. Red, White, and Blue are a great color combination that should not be restricted to be worn once a year to watch fire works.
2. You can easily dress down a blazer by popping the collar up and rolling up the sleeves. It instantly makes it much more casual.
Ever since Pantone came out with their color of the year: Radiant Orchid…I have been dying to do a tutorial devoted to capturing this color in a look.
I made it a point to use both drug store and high end products to show that you can use anything to create a look very similar.
So winter decided to show it’s sweet little face one more time. Yesterday it was short and tees today sweaters and scarfs.
While everyone else is complaining, I’m going to enjoy one last snuggle on the couch with the girls and a hot cup of coffee this morning before the real heat hits. And of course one more chance to wear a chunky scarf.

I hope everyone had a very blessed Easter!
We had a great weekend with our MiMi and PaPa, who came in on Friday.
The girls enjoyed lots of time with them as well as several Easter egg hunts.
Easter happened to fall on April 20th this year, which is a day in our family that is somewhat emotional and hard. I hate that anyone, especially the ones I love the most have to feel any kind of pain, especially that of losing a child. But to both the sweet family’s who had to endure, let there be HOPE (that Easter itself reminds us of), that we will all be together again very soon.
On top of April 20th being several birthdays in our family. It is also the day that Corey and I got to bring the girls home from the hospital after a very long stay in the NICU. We became MOM & DAD on the 20th two years ago.
So, I thought I would share the last three Easter pics of the girls and one of them on the day we brought them home. So very thankful for what the Lord has given to us. We should all be reminded to kiss our little ones as much as we can and teach them about Jesus. They are entrusted to us for an unknown amount of time, so make it count!

I love taking something simple and dressing it up. Simple skinnies and a grey tee taken to a dressy style with a statement necklace and strappy heels.
See what I got at Ulta, CVS, and Target!!
A basic black Tee is in my book just as important to have in your closet as a the “little black dress”. Dressing it up or down, it is a definite must have.
Here is just one way to style it.

The best way to take an ordinary outfit up a notch is with a statement.
This outfit called for a statement necklace!

It is so easy to take an outfit from day to night.
I wore this during the day with flats(first picture) to take care of the girls and run errands.
Then, to go on a much needed date with Corey, I through on some cure booties.(second picture)
Seriously, that’s it.
