Water Colors

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCLet me be honest with you, while shopping a few weeks ago…..I was a little on the fence about this top. I liked it and it’s super light weight but I wasn’t sure if it was going to transition good as a spring look with so much black. For this look I paired it with black pants. But I can for see this looking super cute with a light colored skirt or skinny jeans. Unfortunately….most of my spring/summer wardrobe is in storage back in Amarillo….so I working with what I’ve got : \

Lightweight & Loungy

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSC

This whole lightweight kimono/duster trend is quickly becoming a style obsession of mine. The easy, comfy, colorful, spring style is so great and a fun way to wear lots of color or floral in a very fashionable way. I, personally, cant get ENOUGH!

Dressing Up Your Denim

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCphotoshop2photoshopAs no surprise…I am a totally jean type of girl. Don’t get me wrong, I love skirts and shorts and pants, but I always love a good pair of denim.

As a mom, denim is practical. I can move in it, crawl on the floor, play princesses, pick up toys and go grocery shopping without looking completely overdressed.

With that being said; let’s dress that denim up today.

1st: The fastest way to dress up your denim it to throw on a good, sexy pair of heels.

2nd: A fun, top with extra details. The one I chose is metallic with lace detail at the top.

3rd: Dress up your jewelry. This is such an easy way to rev up an outfit. Fun dangly earrings and blingy arm candy are some of my favorites.

4th:  Carry a clutch! For me, instead of carrying a huge bag full of snacks and baby wipes, carrying a clutch feels dressed up and classy.

5th: Bold Lips! Try a bright pink, vampy red or dramatic berry lipstick.

I picked this top up at target a couple weeks ago and could not wait to wear it. I love the neutral navy color and it’s super lightweight and comfy. Great for a crisp spring morning.

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSince out temperature today feels a bit more like summer than spring, I figured I would share this Very Spring Look today. I just love this top I picked up at one of my favorite boutiques when I was back in Amarillo for a visit. It will defiantly be perfect for spring as well as through summer.

Recently I had the opportunity to make a cake/cupcakes for a Sip & See party. This is how it turned out!

Also, I made sugar cookies for the saucers underneath the cupcake teacups. Since I had quite a bit of cookie dough left over I whipped up the rest and topped them with vanilla, almond buttercream frosting roses. I took them with me on my visit back to Amarillo and shared them with family. They were delicious. The cookie itself is a little bland but with frosting…….oh my. It is definitely something I will make again.

With flip flop weather right around the corner, we kicked off the warmer temperatures with some cutsie toes!!

While I was visiting my family back in Amarillo, we had the super talented Jessica come over for a quick toe party. My sister and mom went with a fun paisley print and I opted for stripes and roses.

If you are in the Amarillo area and are in need of a fun pedicure definitely get in touch with her. She is awesome and will soon be working out of Merle Norman on Soncy, but she’s also great for girl parties.

Birthday Babies

Three Years Old!!!

I can’t believe my little ladies are so big. I still remember them teenie tiny in the hospital, and buying them doll dresses to wear for their first pictures. Now, they are growing into the sweetest, kindest, most fun, loving spirited beauties.

My heart is overflown with love form them, couldn’t even imagine my days without gentle hugs and sugary kisses from them both.  I am so blessed to be their momma and will try my best to be the tender, nurturing mother they need.

Here’s their special weekend in a nutshell.
