I recently reviewed this new spin care system by Duvolle and here’s my thoughts…
This style is absolutely everywhere right now, and personally, I am 100% ok with it. The wide leg style is super comfy and great for warmer weather. Plus, you can find them at any retailer at all price points.
Although the silhouette is right on trend, they can be a little tricky to style. Let me show you a few ways to wear them as well as some tips and tricks.
Casual and Comfy
Wear them with a simple tank and slides for an easy, effortless look. It’s always important to balance any outfit, especially with this more wide style bottom. A more fitted top works great with these pants and shows off the cute tie.
Ready For Work
You can also easily wear this style to work with a simple cami and blazer. Add a heel for a polished look.
Night Out Vibe
This pair has a light striped print that can be worn with any solid or a print too. The mixed print style and fun and flirty one shoulder look is perfect for a night out look. I swapped the tie belt for on to match my shoes and give a unique style.
This look is actually one I styled and wore to church. It’s really versatile and neutral so can be worn for lots of different occasions.
Wedges and a straw hat instantly make any outfit scream summer, am I right?! Style these pants with an off the shoulder top gives it a whole different look and super fun style.
I hope this post gives you some knew ways to style with must have pant for spring and summer.
With spring in full swing, I wanted to put together a few of my favorite pieces that Stitch Fix offers. They’re great for our mild spring weather and spot on for a comfy, casual but put together style.
First, a great knit blazer. I love this one by Skies Are Blue in blush. (I also have it in a lovely cool tone grey) These are super comfy and versatile and instantly dress up denim for a chic style.
Next, a great light weight button up is always a timeless option that’s a perfect closet staple. Wear it under cardigans for winter and fall and with shorts or denim for spring and summer. This one by Bella Dahl is classic with a lightweight fabrication and pin stripes.
Athleisure is always a go-to for me through any season, but for spring, I love adding in some light spring shades like the pretty lavender of this poncho style top.
Finally, layers are always great for the spring here in TX. We can be in the 40-50s in the morning and 70-80s in the afternoon. Having a light layer handy is a must. And of course the light blush/mauve color of this one by Honey Belle is my fav!
I love Stitch Fix and the clothing and convenience they offer. Plus, they’re also a really fun company to work for. So, make sure you schedule Fix for spring.
3 Ways to Wear It- Leopard
Leopard is one of those timeless prints that seems to pop up as a “must-have” from time to time. Personally, I love it, so am always looking for a way to incorporate it into my look. Luckily, it’s pretty neutral. So, Let’s style this cute leopard cami a few different ways!
Casual & Edgy
I would totally wear this for my everyday. It’s cute and comfy but not over done, the distressed denim and cozy cardigan makes it great for school pickup or the grocery store.
Polished and Chic
I love this look for a casual business meeting or event. It’s polished but still casual with a classic pair of skinny jeans.
Dressed Up & Sexy
Simplicity is spot on for this outfit. The longer pencil skirt gives it a more sophisticated and less scandalous vibe. Which is a bit more what I’m going for these days.
I love a great balanced look. Styling something that’s kind of edgy (like camo) with something feminine not only makes it more wearable but also balances your outfit perfectly. I can’t believe that I don’t have any camo pants! I’ll put them on the list to purchase for sure. But, sticking to what’s in my closet, the Olive Cargo Pants are going to be my substitute. Overall, olive and pink/blush are one of my favorite color combos, so I love this look too!
Aren’t we all glad that “athleisure” is a thing! Amen, right?! We can throw on super comfy clothes and it actually looks like we though it through. Yeah for that! So I don’t own a lot of leather anything, just not quite my look. But, I did add this more bomber style jacket to my outfit for a bit of edgy, style.
A comfy dress and cozy cardigan for the win. It’s perfect for fall and the mild temps. I tried to keep the outer layer the same and pair it with neutral booties and bag for an effortless style.
So, this whole, month of outfit Inspo is really showing me what my closet has and is lacking. Working from home, I definitely am short on work wear. So…. slacks and top/sweaters are not something I have a tons of options. So shopping my closet, I decided to take the look and make it more “me”. Which currently is “mom life”. I swapped grey printed pants for light grey skinnies. A fitted and polished cobalt sweater for a bold oversized slouchy shoulder one. I didn’t have black mules so I’m styling the look with white ones and keeping it simple with a black bag.
I am loving this color combo. It’s fresh and chic for a fun fall style. My look, again, is a bit more casual, but captures the same classic style with a preppy touch and bold colors. I am totally wearing this outfit when it’s not 90 degree.
There’s nothing quite as classic as black, white, red, and leopard. So creating a look wasn’t too hard. I swapped the longer line black sleeveless cardigan with a classic black blazer and popped on a red lip instead of a red bag!
Living in Texas, I have found that I really don’t have much as far as jackets and outerwear. It doesn’t get too cold here, so wearing a moto jacket over a sweater is definitely not fall appropriate. So I’m just leaving that layer off.
I love this look, although my dress isn’t plaid, it does have a great texture and work for capturing the style. I’d definitely wear this outfit if I had an office job. LOVE!
Nothing is quite fall without a little plaid. Style it with bootcut denim and a cute bootie and get a simple fall inspired style.
I love love LOVE embroidred denim, but I really don’t have any in my closet. So, instead, I am pairing a great pair of BF Jeans with lots of character with this great shade of camel!
For this look, I am swapping a longer sleeve striped top with this shorter sleeved version. It still has a cute detail and instead of mustard flats (didn’t have any in this shade) I went with a fun pop of blue for a cute style.
How cute, right. Not something I would typically put together, but I like it and it’s causal enough for my everyday, so ….it works. That’s what this is all about anyway, right?! Putting new things together!
I don’t typically wear skirts on the daily other than to church, so my options were limited. Instead of a printed skirt as pictured, I went with this solid a-line in burgundy and paired it with a fun printed top. Add a classic black heel and classy burgundy tote to match and wha-lla!
Cute and casual work wear! I love this preppy, chic style. Working from home now, I have found my work wardrobe is not what it once was, and let’s be real, my days don’t quite call for dressy style currently. Ha. But, a great black blazer is a closet staple and can be worn tons of ways. I styled this one with a windowpane plaid printed top for a neutral preppy print like the one pictured. Add a classic blue denim, pop of rich fall color in a shoe and black bag for a perfectly polished style.
I think this outfit is so fun, but I have to be honest, not something that is in my wardrobe or something that really matches my style. It has a really modern, edgy vibe and truly had nothing like it. My look is a bit more feminine with a simple black pant, bold statement top with a fun pop of color and contrasting shoe option. I threw in a studded handbag for a touch of edge to balance the look.
This outfit is perfect for a light fall style, I love the whimsical style and print of the dress pictured. But, I really didn’t have anything like it (although I’d love too). So, I went with this boho style shift dress with a fun bell sleeve and must have fall shade. Paired it with peep toe booties and a tote.
How many of you see a fantastic outfit on Pinterest, on a Blog, or in a Magazine, and think, “that’s really cute, but I don’t have that dress, shirt, sweater, ect….”? I know I do, especially working for Stitch Fix as a stylist, I see cute outfit ideas all the time and am just dying to recreate them. But, unfortunately, I can’t buy a completely new wardrobe on the monthly, boo!
So, I had this idea, a goal if you will, to take the monthly outfit calendar that Stitch Fix posts to their blog, and recreate the looks with pieces I already have. I don’t have the exact same pieces for the most part, but do have things that are similar that I can easily capture the style and recreate a look that’s close. So, I wanted to share the month with you and hopefully, encourage you gals to shop your closet and find new outfits you already have.
This look is great for a work ready style. The skirt in the inspo is an aline silhouette with a trendy plaid print. Mines is a pencil style with a more subtle print, but still works. I didn’t have a color blocked sweater, but chose this one for a chic fall color. Add neutral booties & bag.
Everyone needs a leopard cardigan of some kind for fall. It’s kind of a must have in my opinion. I styled mine, which is a bit lighter in color, with a simple black top, dark wash demin, black flats and a cognac bag.
This athleisure style is something I’d totally wear everyday. It’s a fun mix on neutrals. I swapped the grey top for a zip hoodie and the cream hoodie for the cream thermal top, but overall you totally get the same, effortless easy look.
As a fashion lover, I have way too many clothes, shoes and accessories. So, I’m really trying to push myself to create with what I have. But, if you are interested in having amazing, on trend styles and fun new items as often as you’d like, Stitch Fix is definitely a fun and effortless way to go. You can even request specific pieces to your stylist for your Fixes.
It is truly the greatest sale of the year! Every year Nordstroms has a major sales where they bring out new inventory and styles for the upcoming season and offer them at a super discounted price. Then, after the sale these styles will still be in the store at regular price for the rest of the season. This is a great time to stock up on some staples.
These are a few pieces that I absolutely love from the sale that are perfect to purchase as items to pair with tons of things in your closet through the season.
Let me go through some of my favs and tell you why.
1. Plaid Cotton Blend Shirt $31.90
This top by B.P is super comfy and great quality and at a price of $31.90, you can’t beat it. I personally love this Alpine Green Color, but I also am digging the burgundy plaid too. They come in 5 colors and are a longer length perfect for leggings! I’m wearing a medium and I’d say it runs true to size.
2. Lush V-Neck Tee $15.90
These t’s are definitely something to stock up on. They’re a great layering piece for winter and fall but also perfect with shorts for the rest of the summer too. The material is super nice this year and the V-neck style is really flattering. They come in several different colors. I picked up the burgundy and pink, but they have black, grey, white and navy too. I’m wearing a medium in the burgundy and large in the light pink for a more oversized fit. They are selling out quickly, but keep checking back for a restock.
3. B.P Pocket Tee $18.90
I love this long sleeve tee. It’s super soft and a great price. Both the striped ones are great, but beware that the solids are a bit more sheer. I got the black & white, but I also really like the great and white too. I am wearing a XS and it is a little loose but if you want it more oversized go with your regular top size. A small would have given me the more oversized feel.
4. Lush Roll Tab Shirt $27.90
Lush offers this Top every year and it is an essential. I love all the colors especially the Sphinx Color which is a mauvey-lilac color. But for a staple color you can’t go wrong with black or white. They are great on their own or as a layering piece too. I wear a small in these and they are long enough for leggings too!
5. B.P. Cardigan $31.90
This cardigan is perfect for our Texas Winters. It’s great for layering and not too heavy, but still super cozy. It comes in several colors, but most are sold out as of now. Keep checking back bc they restock randomly throughout the sale. I have these in a XS as they run a bit big.
I have been on the hunt for a pair of lace up, neutral, perforated heels or wedges and was so excited to find this blush pair at Nordstrom Rack a couple weeks ago. They’re by the brand 14th & Union and are super affordable. They’re going to be a staple in my summer wardrobe for sure. Also, this ruffle, cross front top is from Marie and Mae and will be available soon. In the mean time…..check out some of the super cute things she has up currently. This top is not maternity (most of the clothes I wear aren’t) but it does cover the bump!
Pink Florals are one of my favorites! It’s feminine, romantic and flirty. If you style something super feminine with a more distressed denim the look can come out balanced and perfect.
Who says that dark grey/black denim isn’t for spring and summer!? The same love I have for white denim year around….I totally feel the same for grey & black denim. Just because they’re darker colors, you can totally make them spring & summer appropriate. Wear them with light pastels, white, stripes, or a simple grey tee. You can add colorful pops that totally take your dark neutrals right into the season. In this case pops of turquoise & orange.
It’s no surprise that pastel colors are super on trend for the spring season. I the fit and criss cross detail on this super comfy top. I styled it with this simple straight leg more oversized fitting boyfriend jean. I’m having such a hard time finding great maternity style denim, so I seriously just a bought this pair of jeans in …..I’d like to say one size up but actually two sizes up. They’re really comfy and will be great transitioning back to pre baby once our little brother gets here.
