Cauliflower Pizza Crust
I love pizza, …any kind really. I haven’t found any that I really don’t like. Pineapple, bacon and potato, cheese and peperoni… you name it. So when I started to see this new fad of CAUILFLOWER EVERYTHING going around on pintrest, the pizza crust idea caught my eye.
Now, lets be honest….it was not the best pizza crust ever….it didn’t taste like a fabulous carb filled delight that I enjoy pizza for being, but it was OKAY.
I like cauliflower to begin with, so the taste was fine with me. The texture was not that of pizza crust, but if you are looking for a different way to enjoy a “pizza like meal” without all the carbs….this is one way to do it.
After reading through several recipes I came up with this concoction.Cauliflower Pizza Crust 2 Cups Shredded Cauliflower 1/2 Cup of Italian Blend Cheese 2 tsps. of Italian Seasoning 1 Egg **Use food processor to shred Cauliflower. Then place in microwave for 8 minutes, no need to add any liquid. After Cauliflower is cooked add egg, cheese, and seasoning. Then put on pizza stone and press into shape of pizza crust. Bake on 400 for about 12 to 15 minutes. Until crust starts to get golden brown. Then top with preferred toppings (I used alfredo sauce, fresh spinach, chicken and Italian cheese)and bake an additional 5 to 7 minutes.**
For me, there is really no way to substitute anything for the real deal pizza. If that’s what I craving….I’m going to eat the darn thing, but the recipe itself is pretty good.
